PRESCRIBED EXAM NOTICE

Section 289A(c) of the Migration Act 1958 (the ‘Act’) requires applicants to complete a prescribed course within the prescribed period and to have passed a prescribed exam within the prescribed period.

The Migration Agents Registration Authority, acting under subregulation 5(1)(c) of the Migration Agents Regulations 1998, in accordance with section 289A(c) of the Act, hereby:

(1)       REVOKES the notice entitled MARA PRESCRIBED EXAMINATION NOTICE, published on 22/06/2004 by the Migration Agents Registration Authority; and

(2)       APPROVES the following exams as prescribed exams for the purposes of section 289A(c). Either:

(a)       the Migration Advice Professional Knowledge Entrance Examination;

OR

(b)“The common assessment items relating to registration”, which form part of the Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice at The Australian National University, Griffith University, Murdoch University and Victoria University.
