MANLY GAS COMPANY LIMITED

(AMENDMENT) ACT.

An Act to amend the Manly Gas-light and Coke Company (Limited) Act of 1884. [Assented to, 1st April, 1931.]

T Y ^ H E R E A S the Manly Gas-light and Coke

Company (Limited) was incorporated under the Companies Acts of the State of New South "Wales on the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand eight

hundred and eighty-three And whereas an Act to
enable the Manly Gas-light and Coke Company (Limited) to construct gas-works within and to supply and light with gas the Borough and Suburbs of Manly was duly passed on the twentieth day of June, one

thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, and section

twenty-six: of the said Act provides that it may be cited as the "Manly Gas-light and Coke Company (Limited) Act of 1SS1 " And whereas the said Company erected the said gas-works and has ever since continued to supply gas under the powers and authorities and subject to the duties and obligations provided by the said Act

And whereas the name of the Manly Gas-light and

thousand (300,000) shares of one pound (£1) each of which two hundred and sixty thousand (26 , ),0O0) shares have been issued And whereas the said Company is desirous

Coke Company (Limited) was by special resolution duly

passed in the year one thousand nine hundred and

eight changed to the Manly Gas Company Limited and the Company is now registered under that name

And whereas the said Company has from time to time

increased its capital by the issue of new shares and the

authorised capital of the Company is now three bundled thousand pounds (£300,000) divided into three hundred

desirous of raising money for the purposes of carrying out its undertaking under the said Act on the security of its assets including such undertaking hut is unable to give full security over such assets by reason of the

fact that under the said Act the powers authorities
duties and obligations in respect of the said undertaking are vested in and imposed on the said Company without including its assigns And whereas it is desirable that such powers authorities duties and obligations under the said Act should be vested in and imposed on the assigns of the said Company 13c it therefore enacted
by the King's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South "Wales in Parlia­
ment assembled and by the authority of the same as

follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the " Manly Gas Com­

pany Limited (Amendment) Act, 1931."

1. The Manly Gas-light and Coke Company (Limited)

Act of 1881 shall be read and construed as if all references therein to the Manly Gas-light and Coke Company
(Limited) include the Manly Gas Company Limited

and its assigns.
