Major Events (T20 World Cup) Regulation 2022
1 Short title
This regulation may be cited as the Major Events (T20 World Cup) Regulation 2022.
2 Definitions
In this regulation—Allan Border Field means the major event area and controlled area for the T20 World Cup 2022 shown on the map in schedule 1.Brisbane Cricket Ground means the major event area and controlled area for the T20 World Cup 2022 shown on the map in schedule 2.T20 World Cup 2022 means the major event prescribed under section 3.
3 T20 World Cup 2022 prescribed as major event
(1)The cricket event known as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is prescribed as a major event.(2)Sections 4 to 8 prescribe the matters mentioned in sections 12(2) and (3) and 17 of the Act for the T20 World Cup 2022.
4 Major event organiser
T20 World Cup 2020 Ltd ACN 618 113 269 is prescribed as the major event organiser for the T20 World Cup 2022.
5 Major event area and controlled area
(1)Each area shown on a map in schedule 1 or 2 as a major event area is prescribed as a major event area for the T20 World Cup 2022.(2)Each area shown on a map in schedule 1 or 2 as a controlled area is prescribed as a controlled area for the T20 World Cup 2022.
6 Major event period and control period
(1)The following periods are prescribed as the major event period, and the control period, for the T20 World Cup 2022 held at Allan Border Field—(a)12p.m. to 11p.m. on 17 October 2022;(b)4p.m. to 11.30p.m. on 19 October 2022.(2)The following periods are prescribed as the major event period, and the control period, for the T20 World Cup 2022 held at the Brisbane Cricket Ground—(a)12p.m. to 11p.m. on 17 October 2022;(b)11a.m. to 11.30p.m. on 19 October 2022;(c)10.30a.m. to 5.30p.m. on 30 October 2022;(d)3.30p.m. to 10.30p.m. on 31 October 2022;(e)11.30a.m. to 10.30p.m. on 1 November 2022.
7 Provisions of the Act that apply to T20 World Cup 2022, major event areas and controlled areas
(1)The following provisions of the Act are prescribed as provisions that apply to the T20 World Cup 2022—(a)section 18;(b)section 20(1) to (5) and (7);(c)section 22;(d)section 25;(e)section 26(1)(a) to (c), (e), (2), (3) and (6);(f)sections 30 to 34;(g)section 36.(2)A provision of the Act mentioned in subsection (1) is also prescribed as a provision that applies to a major event area for the T20 World Cup 2022, for the major event period for the area.(3)Sections 30 to 34 and 36 of the Act are prescribed as provisions that apply to a controlled area for the T20 World Cup 2022, for the control period for the area.
8 Restriction on advertising in airspace—Brisbane Cricket Ground
Section 35 of the Act is prescribed as a provision that applies to—(a)the T20 World Cup 2022; and(b)the Brisbane Cricket Ground for the T20 World Cup 2022, for the major event period and control period for the Brisbane Cricket Ground.
9 Official logos—Act, s 51
For section 51(1)(a) of the Act, each logo shown in schedule 3, and a black and white copy of the logo, is declared to be an official logo for the T20 World Cup 2022.
10 Official titles—Act, s 51
For section 51(1)(b) of the Act, each of the following titles is declared to be an official title for the T20 World Cup 2022—(a)ICC T20 World Cup 2022;(b)ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022;(c)ICC T20 World Cup Australia;(d)ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia;(e)ICC T20 World Cup Australia 2022;(f)ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022;(g)T20 World Cup;(h)Twenty20 World Cup;(i)International Cricket Council.
11 Authorised persons—Act, ss 56 and 57
(1)For section 56(1)(d) of the Act, a person who is a crowd controller or security officer is prescribed for the T20 World Cup 2022.(2)For section 57(2) of the Act, an authorised person must not exercise a power under section 18(5) or 25 of the Act unless the person is—(a)a police officer; or(b)a crowd controller; or(c)a security officer.(3)Also for section 57(2) of the Act, an authorised person must not exercise a power under any of the following sections of the Act unless the person is a police officer—(a)section 30(4);(b)section 32(5);(c)section 33(4);(d)section 54(2);(e)section 63(2).(4)In this section—crowd controller see the Security Providers Act 1993, section 5.security officer see the Security Providers Act 1993, section 7.
12 Expiry
This regulation expires on 1 November 2022.
