I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Magistrates Court (Small Claims Division) Act 1989 .30 March 1998

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Magistrates Court (Small Claims Division) Amendment Regulations 1998 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on 30 March 1998. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Magistrates Court (Small Claims Division) Regulations 1989 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 3A insertedBefore regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted in Part 2: 3APrescribed sum For the purpose of paragraph (b) of the definition of "prescribed sum" in section 3 of the Act, the sum of $3 000 is prescribed.
