2. The rules amended
The amendments in these rules are to the Magistrates Court
(Minor Cases Procedure) Rules 2005*.[* Published in Gazette 28 April 2005, p. 1711-481
3. Rule 5A inserted
After rule 5 the following rule is inserted into Part 1

5A. Exercise of Court's powers in Part 3 of the Act The Court's powers in Part 3 of the Act, except sections 14, 18 and 25, may be exercised by the Court in every circumstance. 4. Rule 8 amended
Rule 8(1) is amended by deleting "are served with a claim against you," and inserting instead

make a claim, ".
5. Rule 13 amended
Rule 13 is amended by deleting "that is to be served by you".
6. Rule 22A inserted
After rule 22 the following rule is inserted into Part 4

22A. Registrar may order costs after giving judgment
When the Registrar gives default judgment under thisPart the Registrar may also make an order for costs
under the Act section 31(2).
