Magistrates' Court Act 1989

Magistrates' Court (Judicial Registrars) Amendment Rules 2022

The Chief Magistrate together with 2 Deputy Chief Magistrates jointly make the following Rules:

1Object

The object of these Rules is to amend Schedule 1 to the Magistrates' Court (Judicial Registrars) Rules 2015 to specify a proceeding under section 19(7A) of the Road Safety Act 1986 as one in respect of which a judicial registrar may deal with and exercise certain powers of the Court.

2Authorising provisions

These Rules are made under sections 16 and 16I of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989 and all other enabling powers.

3Commencement

These Rules come into operation on 30 May 2022.

4Schedule 1 amended

In Schedule 1 to the Magistrates' Court (Judicial Registrars) Rules 2015[1], in column 2 of item 4, for "s. 19(7AA)" substitute "s. 19(7A)".
