Magistrates' Court General Amendment Regulations 2018

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Magistrates' Court General Regulations 2014 to prescribe Shepparton Magistrates' Court as a venue of the Family Violence Court Division.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 140 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 31 October 2018.

4New regulation 5A inserted

After regulation 5 of the Magistrates' Court General Regulations 2014[1] insert—

"5A    Venue of the Family Violence Court Division

For the purposes of section 4H(5)(c) of the Act, the Shepparton Magistrates' Court is prescribed.".
