Magistrates' Court Act 1989

Magistrates' Court Criminal Procedure Amendment Rules 2021

The Chief Magistrate together with 2 Deputy Chief Magistrates jointly make the following Rules:

1Object

The object of these Rules is to amend the Magistrates' Court Criminal Procedure Rules 2019 to make minor amendments to Form 21 of those Rules.

2Authorising provisions

These Rules are made under section 16 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989 and all other enabling powers.

3Commencement

These Rules come into operation on 23 August 2021.

4Form 21—Remand warrant

In Form 21 of the Magistrates' Court Criminal Procedure Rules 2019[1]—

(a)for "Health and Human Services" (where first occurring) substitute "Justice and Community Safety";

(b)for "Safety, the Chief Commissioner of Police or the Secretary to the Department of Health and Human Services" substitute "Safety or the Chief Commissioner of Police".
