Rules 1999

The Chief Magistrate together with 2 Deputy Chief

Magistrates jointly make the following Rules:

1. Object

The object of these Rules is to make provision in the Principal Rules for calculating time during the long vacation.

2. Authorising provisions

These Rules are made under section 142 of the enabling powers.

3. Principal Rules

After Rule 4.01(2) of the Magistrates' Court
(Committals) Rules 19991 insert—
"(3) In calculating time under sub-rule (2), the

registrar must exclude the period from 23 December 1999 to 16 January 2000, unless the Court otherwise orders.".
