Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) (Solicitors’ Costs) Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, MICHAEL CARTER TATE, the Minister of State for Justice, acting for and on behalf of the Attorney-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, hereby make the following Regulations under the Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) Ordinance 1982.

Interpretation
1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) (Solicitors’ Costs) Regulations.
Increase in costs—2 November 1987 to 2 February 1988
2. Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (2) all the words after “expiration of” and substituting “2 February 1988”.
Increase in costs—from 3 February 1988
3. Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (2) all the words after “commenced” and substituting “during the period that commenced on 3 February 1988 and ended at the expiration of the day preceding the date of commencement of regulation 9”.
Insertion
4. After regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations the following regulation is inserted:
Further increase in costs
“9. (1) In these Regulations, a reference to—
(a)the costs ascertained in accordance with an item in a Schedule; or
(b)a scale of costs set out in a Schedule;
shall be read as a reference to those costs, or that scale of costs, respectively, increased by 11.56%.
“(2) Subregulation (1) applies only in relation to work or services the performance of which commenced on or after the commencement of this regulation.”.
