I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

An Ordinance to amend the Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) Ordinance 1982
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) (Amendment) Ordinance 1989.1
Commencement
2. Section 3 shall be deemed to have commenced on 11 May 1989.
Rules of Court
3. Section 307A of the Magistrates Court (Civil Jurisdiction) Ordinance 19822 is amended—
(a)by omitting “Workmen’s Compensation Ordinance 1951” and substituting “Workmen’s Compensation Act 1951 of the Territory”;
(b)by omitting “that Ordinance” (wherever occurring) and substituting “that Act”; and
(c)by adding at the end the following subsection:
“(2) The rules in force under the Workmen’s Compensation Act 1951 of the Territory immediately before the commencement of this section continue in force on and after the commencement as if they had been made under subsection (1).”.
