Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) Amendment Regulations 2014
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) Regulations 2010—
(a)to revoke the allowances for professional costs that may be awarded to a party in respect of an arbitration under Division 2 of Part 5 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989; and
(b)to make other minor and technical amendments.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 140 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989.
3Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 August 2014.
4New regulation 1 substituted
For regulation 1 of the Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) Regulations 2010[1] substitute—
"1 Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe those classes of complaint that are exempt from arbitration under Division 2 of Part 5 of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989.".
5Revocation of regulations 4 and 6
Regulations 4 and 6 of the Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) Regulations 2010 are revoked.
6Revocation of Schedules 1 and 3
Schedules 1 and 3 of the Magistrates' Court (Arbitration) Regulations 2010 are revoked.
