s1 2 s5 Magistrates Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2007 No. 296, 2007 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Magistrates Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2007 . 2 Commencement This regulation commences on 1 January 2008. 3 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Magistrates Regulation 2003. 4 Replacement of s 3 (Form of oath or affirmation) Section 3— omit, insert— ‘3 Form of oath or affirmation for magistrates—Act, s 9(1) ‘(1) For the purpose of section 9(1) of the Act, the oath is as follows— ‘I, , swear that I will properly serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors, in the office of magistrate and that I will treat everyone fairly and without bias according to law—SO HELP ME GOD!’. ‘(2) For the purpose of section 9(1) of the Act, the affirmation is as follows— ‘I, , solemnly affirm that I will properly serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors, in the office of magistrate and that I will treat everyone fairly and without bias according to law.’.’. 5 Insertion of new s 4 After section 3— insert—

s5 3 s5 Magistrates Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2007 No. 296, 2007 ‘4 Form of oath or affirmation for judicial registrars—Act, s 53F(1) ‘(1) For the purpose of section 53F(1) of the Act, the oath is as follows— ‘I, , swear that I will properly serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors, in the office of judicial registrar and that I will treat everyone fairly and without bias according to law—SO HELP ME GOD!’. ‘(2) For the purpose of section 53F(1) of the Act, the affirmation is as follows— ‘I, , solemnly affirm that I will properly serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors, in the office of judicial registrar and that I will treat everyone fairly and without bias according to law.’.’.
