MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY ACT 1989—BY-LAW

NEW SOUTH WALES

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Macquarie University Act 1989, has been pleased to approve the By-law made by the Council of the Macquarie University and set forth hereunder.

The Council of the Macquarie University, in pursuance of the

Macquarie University Act 1989, makes the following By-law:

The Macquarie University By-laws are amended:

(a)

by inserting in By-law X. 3 (1) at the end of the list of degrees the following matter:

The degree of Doctor of Education (EdD)

(b) by inserting after By-law X. 3 (2) the following clause:

(2A) The Council may award an Honorary Fellowship to any

person approved by the Council.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this By-law is to amend the Macquarie University By-laws to

enable the Council of the University to confer degrees of Doctor of Education and
award Honorary Fellowships.
