s1 3 s6 Lotto (On-line) Amendment (No. 1) No. 49, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This rule may be cited as the Lotto (On-line) Amendment Rule (No. 1) 1996 . ˙ Rule amended 2. This rule amends the Lotto (On-line) Rule 1989 . ˙ Commencement 3. Sections 12, 16(2) and 18 commence on 17 May 1996. ˙ Omission of ss 1.3 and 1.4 4. Sections 1.3. and 1.4— omit. ˙ Amendment of s 2.1 (Definitions) 5.(1) Section 2.1, definition “Bloc partners” , ‘referred to in section 10 of the Act’— omit. (2) Section 2.1, definitions “the Act” and “drawing equipment” — omit. ˙ Insertion of new s 2.3 6. After section 2.2— insert— ˙ ‘ Meaning of “drawing equipment” ‘ 2.3. “Drawing equipment” means electrically operated machines designed and used— (a) to select, at random and one at a time, the winning numbers in a game of lotto; and

Section 10.1, ‘Subject’ to ‘each drawing shall’— omit, insert— ‘Each drawing, other than a drawing for Wednesday gold lotto, must’. ˙ Amendment of s 10.2 (Gold Lotto) 8.(1) Section 10.2, ‘partners shall’— omit, insert— ‘partners, or for Wednesday gold lotto, the corporation, must’. (2) Section 10.2, ‘Schedule 1, A #27, #30 and B #27, #30’— omit, insert— ‘schedule 1, #27 and #30 (other than C#27 and C#30)’. ˙ Insertion of new s 10.4 9. After section 10.3— insert— ˙ ‘ When number is taken to be drawn ‘ 10.4. A numbered ball is taken to be drawn from the drawing equipment when the ball rests in the horizontal display section of the drawing equipment.’. ˙ Amendment of s 13.1 10. Section 13.1, ‘A, B and C,’— omit.

s 11 5 s 11 Lotto (On-line) Amendment (No. 1) No. 49, 1996 ˙ Insertion of new ss 13.5 and 13.6 11. After section 13.4— insert— ˙ ‘ Sections 13.1 to 13.4 not to apply to Wednesday gold lotto ‘ 13.5. Sections 13.1 to 13.4 do not apply to Wednesday gold lotto. ˙ ‘ Prize pool allocation for Wednesday gold lotto ‘ 13.6.(1) This section provides for the allocation of prizes for Wednesday gold lotto. ‘ (2) The corporation must pay into the prize pool for each drawing the percentage of the total entry fees for the drawing specified in schedule 1, item D#1. ‘ (3) The corporation must put aside as a bonus prize reserve the percentage of the prize pool specified in schedule 1, item D#2. ‘ (4) The corporation must pay from the bonus prize reserve— (a) if there are no more than 3 division 1 winners—$1 000 000 to each division 1 winner; or (b) if there are more than 3 division 1 winners—$3 000 000 divided equally amongst the division 1 winners. ‘ (5) If there is not enough money in the bonus prize reserve to pay the prizes mentioned in subsection (4), the corporation must pay the shortfall in prize money from the corporation’s own funds. ‘ (6) The corporation may reimburse itself from the bonus prize reserve for money paid by it under subsection (5). ‘ (7) The net prize pool must be distributed as specified in schedule 1, items D#5 to D#8 for divisions 2 to 5. ‘ (8) The prize money for a division of a game, other than division 1, must be divided equally amongst the winners in the division. ‘ (9) Despite subsection (7), the amount of a prize distributed, other than in division 1, may be rounded to the nearest sum consisting of a multiple of 5 cents.

s 12 6 s 14 Lotto (On-line) Amendment (No. 1) No. 49, 1996 ‘ (10) Amounts deducted from, or added to, prizes in rounding under subsection (9) must be added to or deducted from the bonus prize reserve. ‘ (11) If there is no winner in division 2, 3 or 4 in a game, the amount of the prize pool available for distribution to winners in the division must be added to the prize pool available for distribution to winners in the next lower division. ‘ (12) If there is no winner in division 5 in a game, the prize pool available for distribution to the winners of division 5 must be added to the bonus prize reserve. ‘ (13) In this section— “net prize pool” means the amount of the prize pool remaining after the corporation has put aside the bonus prize reserve.’. ˙ Amendment of s 14.1 (Jackpots) 12. Section 14.1, ‘Thursday Gold Lotto,’— omit. ˙ Insertion of new s 14.1A 13. After section 14.1— insert— ˙ ‘ Division 1 prize in Wednesday gold lotto—no jackpot ‘ 14.1A. Section 14.1 does not apply to Wednesday gold lotto.’. ˙ Insertion of new s 15.1A 14. After section 15.1— insert— ˙ ‘ Prize claims—division 1, Wednesday gold lotto ‘ 15.1A. Division 1 prizes in Wednesday gold lotto are not paid from the prize pool but from the bonus prize reserve mentioned in section 13.6.’.

After section 16.7— insert— ˙ ‘ Transitional provisions for ending Thursday gold lotto and introducing Wednesday gold lotto ‘ 16.8.(1) A multiweek entry purchased for a Thursday gold lotto draw happening after 14 March 1996 is an entry for Thursday gold lotto until not later than 16 May 1996 and after that, to the limit of the weeks paid for, is taken to be an entry for Wednesday gold lotto. ‘ (2) Despite section 14.1, if there is no winner in division 1 at the drawing for the game of Thursday gold lotto on 16 May 1996, the amount of the prize pool available for distribution to winners in division 1 must be added to the prize pool available for distribution to winners in the next lower division in which there is a winner. ‘ (3) The last game of Thursday gold lotto is to be drawn on 16 May 1996 and the first game of Wednesday gold lotto is to be drawn on 22 May 1996.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 1 (Game parameters) 16.(1) Schedule 1— insert—
