s1 2 s4 Lotto (On-line) Amendment (No. 1) No. 368, 1994 ˙ Short title 1. This rule may be cited as the Lotto (On-line) Amendment Rule (No. 1) 1994 . ˙ Rule amended 2. This rule amends the Lotto (On-line) Rule 1989 . ˙ Amendment of s 2.1 3.(1) Section 2.1, definition “claim period”— omit, insert— ‘ “claim period” see section 2.2.’. (2) Section 2.1— insert— ‘ “head office” means the selling point in Brisbane operated by the Office. 1 ’. ˙ Insertion of new s 2.2 4. After section 2.1— insert— ˙ ‘ Meaning of “claim period” ‘ 2.2.(1) The “claim period” for a game means— (a) for a game drawn on a Saturday or Sunday—the period ending at the close of business on the Friday immediately before the 14th day after the drawing of the game; or (b) for a game drawn on another day—the period ending at the close of business 14 days after the drawing of the game. 1 The head office is located at 87 Ipswich Road, Woolloongabba. The Office also has an office in the northern region located at 241 Sturt Street, Townsville.

s4 3 s4 Lotto (On-line) Amendment (No. 1) No. 368, 1994 ‘ (2) However, if the head office is closed on the day the claim period ends, the claim period closes throughout the State at the close of business on the business day immediately before the claim period would otherwise have ended. ‘ (3) If subsection (2) applies, the Office must— (a) endorse each subscription receipt for the relevant game with the details of the earlier closure of the claim period; or (b) give public notice of the details of the earlier closure of the claim period by publishing the details in a newspaper circulating generally in the State for at least 3 days before the day the claim period ends. ‘ (4) Failure to comply with subsection (3) does not affect the validity of a subscription receipt or a drawing.’.
