AN ACT to amend sections three and ten of the Lotteries (Control) Act, 1932-1944, and to provide for the retrospective operation of such amendments.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. This Act may be cited as the Lotteries (Control) Act Amendment Act, 1946, and shall be read as one with	Short title.

Amendment of 2. Section three of the principal Act is amended by

inserting after the words "being sued" in line two of

paragraph (b) the words

"acquiring, holding and leasing for any term any

real property,".

,s1.nit isndment of 3. Section ten of the principal Act is amended by

adding after the words "charitable purpose ;" at the end

of paragraph (d) the words

"or in the purchase, acquisition, maintenance and improvement of lands and buildings for the purposes of this Act."

Retrospective

effect of Act. 4. This Act shall operate and have effect from and

including the first day of January, one thousand nine

hundred and forty-six.
