Lotteries Commission (Powerball) Amendment

Rules (No. 2) 2006

Made by the Lotteries Commission under section 28(1) of the Act.

1.            Citation

These rules are the Lotteries Commission (Powerball)
Amendment Rules (NO. 2) 2006.

2.            Commencement

These rules come into operation on 10 November 2006 and apply to powerball draw No. 548 and the powerball draws following that draw.

Rule 9A is repealed.

3.            The rules amended

The amendments in these rules are to the Lotteries Commission
(Powerball) Rules 1996*.

4.            Rule 3A repealed

Rule 3A is repealed.

5.            Rule 9A repealed

6.            Rule 14 amended

Rule 14(2)(ab) is deleted.

7. Rule 22 amended
Rule 22(1) is repealed and the following subrule is inserted
instead -

IE

(1) The Commission must distribute the prize pool for a
powerball draw as follows -

(a)	division 1 -	40.0% of the prize pool;
(b)	division 2 -	12.9% of the prize pool;
(c)	division 3 -	5.9% of the prize pool;
(d)	division 4 -	4.6% of the prize pool;
(e)	division 5 -	2.6% of the prize pool;
(1)	division 6 -	11.7% of the prize pool;
(g)	division 7 -	22.3% of the prize pool.

8.            Rule 31 amended

Rule 31(1)(b) is deleted and the following paragraph is inserted instead -

(b) is valid for 5 years from the date of issue.

9.            Schedule 1 amended

Schedule us amended by deleting everything from "The cost of
entering a powerball lotto draw that takes place on or before
27 January 2005 is" to "on or after 28 January 2004" (inclusive)
and inserting instead -

10.          Schedule 2 amended

Schedule 2 is amended by deleting everything from "The component of the total cost of entering a powerball lotto draw (that takes place on or before 27 January 2005) that is" to "on or after 28 January 2005)" (inclusive) and inserting instead -
