I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A C , Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Lotteries and Art Unions (Amendment) Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 September 1994 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the remaining provisions of the
Lotteries and Art Unions (Amendment) Act 1994 which were not commenced on 1 July

1994. These provisions relate to the following: • the conduct of lotteries and games of chance by certain charitable and

non-profit organisations (Schedule 1 (2), (8) and (9));

the conduct of lotteries and games of chance where alcohol is offered as a prize (Schedule 1 (3) (c), (4), (5) (c) and (6) (to the extent item (6) relates to section 18B));

• art unions (Schedule1(15)–(20))
