A. M. Gleeson the Governor

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Lotteries and Art Unions (Amendment) Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1994 as the day on which that Act commences, except the following provisions:

(a) Schedule 1 (2), (3) (c), (4), (5) (c), (8), (9) and (15)–(20);
(b) so much of Schedule 1 (6) as would insert section 18B.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence most of the provisions of the Lotteries and Art Unions (Amendment) Act 1994 on 1 July 1994. The provisions which remain uncommenced contain amendments relating to the conduct of lotteries and games of chance by certain charitable and non-profit organisations, liquor prizes and art unions.
