Snail Races)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Lotteries and Art Unions (Lotteries and Games of Chance) Regulation 1992 is amended by inserting at the end of Part 8 of Schedule 1 the following matter:

Armidale Snail Races Armidale Branch of the Challenge

Foundation of New South Wales

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 4D of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901 permits sweeps and

calcuttas to be conducted in relation the Melbourne Cup and other events prescribed by the regulations. The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the Armidale Snail Races, conducted by the Armidale Branch of the Challenge Foundation of New
South Wales, as an event for which both sweeps and calcuttas may be conducted.
