LOTTERIES AND ART UNIONS ACT 1901—REGULATION

(Relating to the holding of sweeps and calcuttas in connection with horse

races)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Lotteries and Games of Chance Regulations 1966 are amended by

omitting Regulation 10 and by inserting instead the folIowing Regulation:

Prescribed events for sweeps and calcuttas

10. For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of "prescribed event" in section 4D (1) of the Act, each horse race named in Column 1 of the Table to this clause and conducted by the club named in Column 2 of that Table opposite the name of that race is prescribed as an event in relation to which both sweeps and calcuttas may be conducted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to enable the holding of sweeps and calcuttas in
