LOTTERIES AND ART UNIONS ACT 1901—REGULATION

(Relating to the holding of sweeps and calcuttas in connection with a

particular horse race)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Lotteries and Games of Chance Regulations 1966 are amended by

inserting after Regulation 9 the following Regulation:

Prescribed event for sweeps and calcuttas

10. For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of

“prescribed event” in section 4D (1) of the Act, the horse race conducted annually by the Wellington Race Club Incorporated and known as the Wellington Boot is prescribed as an event in relation to which both sweeps and calcuttas may be conducted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to enable the holding of sweeps and calcuttas in

connection with the Wellington Boot, which is a horse race held in Wellington,
New South Wales.
