His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to prescribe certain specified games of chance for the purposes of section 4A (3) (e) of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901 but only if they are played at the Sydney Casino located on the site
of the former Pyrmont Power Station and for a limited time (21 November
1997 to 24 November 1997). This Regulation will allow a person who has obtained a permit from the Minister pursuant to section 4A of the Act to conduct the specified games of chance in a manner that will entitle the winners to be awarded money prizes (subject to any other conditions specified in, or under, section 4A of the Act).
This Regulation is made under the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901, including sections 4A and 23 (the general regulation making power).

Insert after clause 98:
98A Games of chance—temporary exemption regarding
money prizes
For the purposes of section 4A (3) (e) of the Act, the following games played at the premises erected on the site of the former Pyrmont Power Station and comprising the permanent Sydney Casino are prescribed for the period beginning Friday 21 November 1997 and ending Monday 24 November 1997 inclusive:
(a) craps (b) big wheel (c) mini baccarat (d) sic-bo (e) pai gow (f) baccarat (g) roulette (h) two-up (i) let it ride
(j) blackjack.
