s1 2 s4 Lotteries Amendment (No. 2) No. 217, 1998 ˙ Short title 1. This rule may be cited as the Lotteries Amendment Rule (No. 2) 1998 . ˙ Commencement 2. This rule commences on 26 July 1998. ˙ Rule amended 3. This rule amends the Lotteries Rule 1996 . ˙ Amendment of sch 8 (Golden casket) 4.(1) Schedule 8, section 2, definitions “approved schedule” , “drawing equipment” and “net prize pool” — omit . (2) Schedule 8, section 2— insert — ‘ “approved schedule” , for a drawing of casket, means the schedule approved for the drawing by the Minister under section 16. “drawing equipment” means— (a) the regulated lottery equipment known as the golden casket winning number generator; or (b) a mechanical, electronic or other type of device or aid approved by the chief executive.’. (3) Schedule 8, parts 4 to 6— omit, insert— ‘ PART 4—DRAWING CASKET ‘ Drawing the numbers ‘ 13. A person who conducts a drawing of casket must cause the drawing

s4 3 s4 Lotteries Amendment (No. 2) No. 217, 1998 equipment used for the drawing to generate the winning numbers required for the approved schedule for the drawing. ‘ Time for drawing ‘ 14. A drawing of casket must be conducted— (a) on the day stated for the drawing in the approved schedule for the drawing; or (b) on a day that accords with the timing for the drawing stated in the approved schedule for the drawing. ‘ PART 5—PAYMENT OF PRIZES ‘ Payout guaranteed ‘ 15. If the proceeds from the sale of tickets for a drawing of casket are not enough to pay the prizes stated in the approved schedule for the drawing, the corporation must make available the shortfall from the corporation’s own funds. ‘ PART 6—APPROVED SCHEDULE ‘ Approval of schedule ‘ 16. The Minister may approve a schedule for a drawing of casket. ‘ Contents of schedule ‘ 17. The approved schedule for a drawing must contain details of the following— (a) the prize structure for the drawing, including details of—

s4 4 s4 Lotteries Amendment (No. 2) No. 217, 1998 (i) the number of tickets available for sale for the drawing; and (ii) the selling price of the tickets; (b) the timing of the drawing. ‘ PART 7—TRANSITIONAL ‘ Golden casket lottery in progress at commencement of amending rule ‘ 18.(1) Anything done, or anything in existence, under this rule before the commencement of this section for a drawing of golden casket that is not completed before the commencement is, after the commencement, taken to have been done, or to be in existence, for casket. ‘ (2) However, if a current drawing of golden casket has not been completed before the commencement of this section, it must be continued and completed under this rule as if this rule had not been amended by the amending rule. ‘ (3) Despite subsection (2), if, immediately before the commencement of this section, a promotional lottery was being conducted in association with a current drawing of golden casket, after the commencement of this section— (a) the promotional lottery may be discontinued; and (b) the prize money for the promotional lottery may be included as part of a prize for the current drawing. ‘ (4) Section 13(1) 1 of this rule does not apply to a subscription receipt if the receipt — (a) was obtained before the commencement of this section; and (b) relates to a drawing of golden casket to be completed after the commencement of this section. 1 Section 13 (No cash refund for cancelled subscription receipt)

s4 5 s4 Lotteries Amendment (No. 2) No. 217, 1998 ‘ (5) In this section— “amending rule” means the instrument that amended this rule by inserting this section. “current drawing” , of golden casket, means— (a) for a drawing of golden casket with tickets having a purchase price of $5—drawing No. 132; or (b) for a drawing of golden casket with tickets having a purchase price of $2—drawing No. 180. “golden casket” means the lottery known under this rule, as in force immediately before the commencement of this section, as golden casket.’.
