s1 2 s5 Lotteries Amendment (No. 1) No. 38, 1998 ˙ Short title 1. This rule may be cited as the Lotteries Amendment Rule (No. 1) 1998 . ˙ Rule amended 2. This rule amends the Lotteries Rule 1996 . ˙ Amendment of s 3 (Definitions) 3. Section 3— insert— ‘ “astropick” means a computer generated selection of numbers, for an entry in a drawing of a lottery, in which a star sign selected by the person entering the drawing, and the time of entry, are used by the computer to generate the selection of numbers.’. ˙ Amendment of s 11 (Processing a coupon) 4. Section 11(i) and (j)— omit, insert— ‘(i) the numbers selected and— (i) if the entry is for powerball—the powerball number underlined; and (ii) if the entry is by an astropick—the star sign selected; (j) whether the entry is by a quickpick, astropick or powerpick or uses the subscriber’s registered numbers;’. ˙ Amendment of sch 1 (Powerball) 5.(1) Schedule 1, section 4— insert— ‘(ba)asking for any type of entry, other than a system entry, by astropick; or’. (2) Schedule 1, section 10(1)(b)—

(3) Schedule 1, part 2— insert— ˙ ‘ Astropick ‘ 12A.(1) To enter a drawing of powerball by astropick, a person— (a) must ask for an astropick; and (b) must select a star sign; and (c) must specify whether the entry required is the equivalent of a standard or multiweek entry; and (d) need not complete a coupon. ‘ (2) An astropick for powerball contains 18 entries.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 3 (Wednesday gold lotto) 6.(1) Schedule 3, section 4— insert— ‘(ba)asking for any type of entry, other than a system entry, by astropick; or’. (2) Schedule 3, section 11(1)(b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) ask for an entry by quickpick or astropick; or’. (3) Schedule 3, part 2— insert— ˙ ‘ Astropick ‘ 12A.(1) To enter a drawing of Wednesday gold lotto by astropick, a person— (a) must ask for an astropick; and (b) must select a star sign; and

s7 4 s8 Lotteries Amendment (No. 1) No. 38, 1998 (c) must specify whether the entry required is the equivalent of a standard or multiweek entry; and (d) need not complete a coupon. ‘ (2) An astropick for Wednesday gold lotto contains 18 entries.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 4 (Saturday gold lotto) 7.(1) Schedule 4, section 4— insert— ‘(ba)asking for any type of entry, other than a system entry, by astropick; or’. (2) Schedule 4, section 11(1)(b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) ask for an entry by quickpick or astropick; or’. (3) Schedule 4, part 2— insert— ˙ ‘ Astropick ‘ 12A.(1) To enter a drawing of Saturday gold lotto by astropick, a person— (a) must ask for an astropick; and (b) must select a star sign; and (c) must specify whether the entry required is the equivalent of a standard or multiweek entry; and (d) need not complete a coupon. ‘ (2) An astropick for Saturday gold lotto contains 18 entries.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 5 (Pools) 8.(1) Schedule 5, section 4— insert— ‘(ba)asking for any type of entry, other than a system entry, by

(3) Schedule 5— insert— ˙ ‘ Astropick ‘ 12A.(1) To enter a drawing of pools by astropick, a person— (a) must ask for an astropick; and (b) must select a star sign; and (c) must specify whether the entry required is the equivalent of a standard or multiweek entry; and (d) need not complete a coupon. ‘ (2) An astropick for pools contains 18 entries.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 6 (Oz lotto) 9.(1) Schedule 6, section 4— insert— ‘(ba)asking for any type of entry, other than a system entry, by astropick; or’. (2) Schedule 6, section 11(1)(b)— omit, insert— ‘(b) ask for an entry by quickpick or astropick; or’. (3) Schedule 6, part 2— insert— ˙ ‘ Astropick ‘ 12A.(1) To enter a drawing of oz lotto by astropick, a person— (a) must ask for an astropick; and
