2 Longreach Rural Training School Amendment Rule 1991 Amended rules 2. The Longreach Rural Training School Rules are amended as set out in this rule. Name of provision units 3.(1) A provision of the Longreach Rural Training School Rules that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a rule may be called a section. (2) A provision of the Longreach Rural Training School Rules that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a subrule may be called a subsection. (3) A reference in the Longreach Rural Training School Rules to a rule or subrule of the rules designated by a number is a reference to a section or subsection of the rule designated by that number. Replacement of s.1 4. Section 1— omit , insert — ‘Short title ‘1. This rule may be cited as the Longreach Rural Training School Rule . ’. Replacement of s.6 5. Section 6— omit , insert — ‘Fees ‘6.(1) The fees payable by a student are— (a) a residential fee of $4 044; and

3 Longreach Rural Training School Amendment Rule 1991 (b) subject to subsections (4) and (5), a tuition fee calculated at the rate of 60 cents for each syllabus contact hour up to a maximum of $480; and (c) a student amenities fee calculated at the rate of 15 cents for each syllabus contact hour up to a maximum of $120. ‘(2) The fees are payable in relation to each school year. ‘(3) The fees are payable— (a) yearly in advance; or (b) by equal instalments, each instalment— (i) relating to a school term; and (ii) being payable in advance of the term to which it relates. ‘(4) A tuition fee is not payable by a student in relation to a school year if— (a) the student is under 17 years of age on 28 February of the year; and (b) the student has not completed education to year 12. ‘(5) The tuition fee that would, but for this subsection, be payable by a student may be dispensed with, or reduced to such amount as the Board determines, if the Board is satisfied that payment of the fee would result in financial hardship. ‘(6) A deposit of $150 is payable in relation to the residential fee. ‘(7) The deposit— (a) is payable within 14 days of the student receiving the notification mentioned in section 5; and (b) is to be deducted from the payment, or the first instalment, as the case requires, of the residential fee; and (c) is not refundable. ’.
