An Ordinance to amend the Long Service Leave (Building and Construction Industry) Ordinance 1981
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Long Service Leave (Building and Construction Industry) (Amendment) Ordinance (No. 4) 1988.1
Principal Ordinance
2. In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Long Service Leave (Building and Construction Industry) Ordinance 1981.2
Inspectors
3. Section 18 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting subsection (4) and substituting the following subsection:
“(4) The Minister shall cause to be issued to each inspector an identity card that specifies the name and appointment of the inspector and on which appears a recent photograph of the inspector.”.
Insertion
4. After section 18 of the Principal Ordinance the following section is inserted:
Return of identity cards
“18A. A person appointed to be an inspector shall not, upon ceasing to be an inspector, fail or refuse without reasonable excuse to return the identity card issued to him or her under subsection 18 (4).
Penalty: $100.”.
Powers of inspector
5. Section 19 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from subsection (2) “the certificate issued to him under sub-section 18 (4)” and substituting “his or her identity card issued under subsection 18 (4)”.
Application for registration by employee or contractor
6. Section 32 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting at the end of paragraph (2) (a) “and”.
