2 Local Government (Transitional) No. 521, 1993 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Local Government (Transitional) Regulation 1993 . ˙ Prescribed changes for application of s.225 of the Act2.(1) For the purpose of the application of section 225 of the Act to the 1994 triennial elections, subsection (2) sets out the section as it applies with changes. (2) If a poll for a triennial election in relation to a local government’s area— (a) is to be conducted by postal ballot for— (i) the whole of the area; or (ii) 1 or more divisions of the area; or (iii) a part of the area; the voters rolls for all triennial elections in relation to the area must be compiled to 31 December 1993 (whether or not the postal ballot is for the whole of the area, 1 or more divisions of the area or a part of the area); or (b) if paragraph (a) does not apply—the voters rolls for all triennial elections in relation to the area must be compiled to 31 January 1994. ˙ Expiry of regulation 3.
