1,014 fIN ANNO VICESIMO QUINTO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 85 of 1976 An Act to amend the Local Government Superannuation Act 1964 - 1974 in a certain particular [ASSENTED TO 16TH DECEMBER, 1976] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Local Government Superannuation Act Amendment Act 1976. (2) In this Act the Local Government Superannuation Act 1964-1974 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Local Government Superannuation Act 1964-1976. 2. Amendment of s. 12. Section 12 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after subsection (3) the following subsection:- " (3A) The Governor in Council may from time to time, by notification published in the Gazette, extend for a term not exceeding six months at any time the period of time for which a member of the Board as constituted at the passing of the Local Government Superannuation Act Amendment Act 1976 or as constituted at any time thereafter is appointed. Each such extension shall be made during the currency of the period of time to be thereby extended and each member of the Board in respect of whom a period of time is so extended shall be taken to have been appointed as such a member for the period of time as so extended.".
