Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Section 166a—Insurance)

Regulations 1995.

Commencement

2. These regulations will come into operation on the day on which they are made.

Interpretation

3. In these regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—

"the Act" means the Local Government Act 1934.

Insurance against civil liabilities (s. 166a)

4. For the purposes of section 166a(1) of the Act a council must take out and maintain

insurance against civil liabilities at a minimum level of cover of $50 million.
