Local Government (Rectification) Order 2014

I make the following order under section 109J of the Local Government Act 1993 .29 April 2014

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Local Government (Rectification) Order 2014 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3Rectification of rate (1)  In this clause – Act means the Local Government Act 1993 ; incorrect rates means the rates specified in subclause (2) as the rates to which this order applies; relevant Council means the Huon Valley Council. (2)  This order applies to – (a) the general rate made by the relevant Council, under section 90 of the Act for the 2013-2014 financial year, at an ordinary council meeting of the relevant Council held on 26 June 2013; and (b) the services rates – (i) made by the relevant Council, under section 93A of the Act for the 2013-2014 financial year, at the same ordinary council meeting; and (ii) that relate to the fire service contributions required under the Fire Service Act 1979 to be collected by the relevant Council for that financial year. (3)  The relevant Council is authorised by the Minister to make, within the period commencing on the day on which this order takes effect and ending on 30 June 2014, another rate as required to replace each incorrect rate.
