2 Local Government (Penalty Notice) No. 229, 1992 ˙ Short title 1. This order in council may be cited as the Local Government (Penalty Notice) Order 1992 . ˙ Definitions 2. In this order in council— “vehicle” has the meaning given by section 9 of the Traffic Act 1949 . ˙ Application of s.31D of the Act3. Section 31D of the Act may be applied to a by-law made by a local authority in respect of any of the following matters— (a) the use of motor vehicles— (i) on land under the control of a local authority; or (ii) in public places (other than roads); (b) advertising the sale of vehicles or boats— (i) on a road; or (ii) on land under the control of a local authority; (c) the selling of goods or the conduct of any other commercial activity— (i) on a road; or (ii) on land adjoining a road; or (iii) on land under the control of a local authority; (d) the use of parks and reserves under the control of a local authority. ˙ Repeal 4. The order in council made under section 31D of the Act on 7 August 1986 and published in the Gazette on 9 August 1986 at page 2459 is repealed.
