Act N o . 159 , 1980 .

An Act to amend sections 270o, 270R and 351B of the Local Government Act, 1919, to provide for certain persons to be owners of certain vehicles for the purposes of those sections, and to amend certain provisions of that Act by way of statute law revision. [Assented to, 15th December, 1980.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

This Act may be cited as the "Local Government (Motor Traffic) Amendment Act, 1980".

The Local Government Act, 1919, is referred to in this Act as the Principal Act.

3 .       This Act contains the following Schedules :—

SCHEDULE 1 .—AMENDMENTS TO THE PRINCIPAL A C T

4 .      The Principal Act is amended in the manner set forth in

Schedules 1 and 2.

AMENDMENTS TO THE PRINCIPAL A C T RELATING TO THE

OWNERSHIP OF CERTAIN VEHICLES.

(1 ) (a) Section 270o ( 5 ) , definition of "Owner"—

From paragraph ( c ) , omit "issue.", insert instead
"issue; and".

(b) Section 270o ( 5 ) , definition of "Owner"—

After paragraph ( c ) , insert :—

section 3 (1) (q11) or ( q l 2 ) of the Motor Traffic Act, 1909, is to be treated as being, for the purposes of section 18A of that Act, the owner of the vehicle.

(2) (a) Section 270R ( 3 ) , definition of "Owner"—

From paragraph ( c ) , omit "issue.", insert instead

(b) Section 270R ( 3 ) , definition of "Owner"—

After paragraph ( c ) , insert :—
