2 Local Government (Mission Beach Marine Facilities Joint Board) No. 372, 1993 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Local Government (Mission Beach Marine Facilities Joint Board) Regulation 1993 . ˙ Definitions 2. In this regulation— “Joint Board” means the Joint Local Authority Board constituted under section 4. ˙ Joined areas 3.(1) The parts of the Shires of Cardwell and Johnstone shown on plan LG125 1 held at the department are joined. (2) The parts joined form the Area of the Joint Board. ˙ Constitution of Joint Local Authority Board 4.(1) A Joint Local Authority Board is constituted. (2) The name of the Joint Board is the Mission Beach Marine Facilities Joint Board. ˙ Functions of Joint Board 5. The functions of the Joint Board are to provide, construct, maintain, manage, regulate and lease facilities for commercial marine activities within its Area. 1 Copies of the plan are available for inspection at— • the Department of Housing, Local Government and Planning, Brisbane • the office of the Mission Beach Marine Facilities Joint Board, 70 Rankin Street, Innisfail.

3 Local Government (Mission Beach Marine Facilities Joint Board) No. 372, 1993 ˙ Members 6.(1) The Joint Board is to consist of 6 members. (2) Cardwell Shire Council and Johnstone Shire Council are each to elect 3 members to the Joint Board from amongst its members. ˙ President 7.(1) Subject to subsections (4) and (5), the members of the Joint Board are to elect 1 of them as president of the Joint Board. (2) The first election is to take place at the Joint Board’s first meeting. (3) Subsequent elections are to take place at the first meeting of the Joint Board held after the end of every triennial election of the members of the Cardwell and Johnstone Shire Councils. (4) The presidency is to rotate between a member of the Joint Board who is a member of Cardwell Shire Council and one who is a member of Johnstone Shire Council. (5) The first president is to be a member of Johnstone Shire Council. ˙ Contribution to general fund 8. Cardwell Shire Council and Johnstone Shire Council are to contribute equally to the general fund of the Joint Board. ˙ First meeting 9.
