Local Government Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2013 Part 1 Preliminary [s 1] Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Local Government Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2013 . Part 2 Amendment of City of Brisbane Regulation 2012 2 Regulation amended This part amends the City of Brisbane Regulation 2012. 3 Amendment of s 178 (Councillors) (1) Section 178(c)— omit. (2) Section 178(d) to (g)— renumber as section 178(c) to (f). 4 Amendment of s 182 (Other contents) (1) Section 182(1)(i)— omit. (2) Section 182(1)(j) to (m)— renumber as section 182(1)(i) to (l). 5 Amendment of s 226 (Exceptions for valuable non-current asset contracts) (1) Section 226(1), ‘subsections (2) and (3)’— Page 2 2013 SL No. 10

(2) Section 226— insert— ‘(3A) However, subsection (3) does not apply if the land or interest in land is disposed of under subsection (1)(b), (1)(c)(ii) or (1)(e).’. (3) Section 226(3A) to (5)— renumber as section 226(4) to (6). Part 3 Amendment of Local Government Regulation 2012 6 Regulation amended This part amends the Local Government Regulation 2012. 7 Amendment of s 186 (Councillors) (1) Section 186(c)— omit. (2) Section 186(d) to (g)— renumber as section 186(c) to (f). 8 Amendment of s 190 (Other contents) (1) Section 190(1)(i)— omit. Local Government Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2013 Part 3 Amendment of Local Government Regulation 2012 [s 9] 9 Amendment of s 236 (Exceptions for valuable non-current asset contracts) (1) Section 236(1), ‘subsections (2) and (3)’— omit, insert— ‘subsections (2) to (4)’. (2) Section 236— insert— ‘(3A) However, subsection (3) does not apply if the land or interest in land is disposed of under subsection (1)(b), (1)(c)(ii) or (1)(e).’. (3) Section 236(3A) to (5)— renumber as section 236(4) to (6). 10 Amendment of s 272 (Minutes) Section 272— insert— ‘(6) This section does not apply to a committee which a local government has, by resolution, exempted from the requirement to take minutes of its proceedings. ‘(7) A local government may only exempt a committee under subsection (6) if the committee’s only function is to advise, or otherwise make a recommendation to, the local government. ‘(8) Also, a committee which has been exempted under subsection (6) must give the local government a written report of its deliberations and its advice or recommendations.’. 11 Insertion of new ch 9, pt 6 Chapter 9— insert— Page 4 2013 SL No. 10

‘Part 6 Local Government Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2013 Part 3 Amendment of Local Government Regulation 2012 [s 11] Reporting missing local government property ‘307A Reporting missing local government property ‘(1) This section applies if— (a) a local government becomes aware that property of, or received by, the local government is missing; and (b) the property has a total value of $1000 or more. ‘(2) The local government must immediately give written notice to the auditor-general. ‘(3) Also, if the local government suspects the property may have been stolen, the local government must immediately give written notice to a police officer.’.
