I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Local Government Legislation Amendment Act 1995, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 21 July 1995 as the day on which the uncommenced provision of that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence item [5] of Schedule l to the Local Government Legislation Amendment Act 1995, that is, the amendment to section 283 (Double candidature) of the Local Government Act 1993 that clarifies the procedure to be followed when a successful candidate for popular election as mayor is also a candidate for election as a councillor.
