Local Government (Kentish Council) Order 2005
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under section 12 of the Local Government Act 1993 .26 April 2005

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Local Government (Kentish Council) Order 2005 . 2Commencement (1) Clauses 1, 3 and 4 and this clause take effect on the day on which the making of this order is notified in the Gazette. (2) Clause 5 and Schedule 1 take effect on the day on which the certificate of election is issued in respect of the election of councillors for the municipal area of Kentish to be held in October 2005. 3InterpretationThe Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if it were by-laws. 4Number of councillors for Kentish Council (1) The total number of persons to be elected as councillors in the municipal area of Kentish is 9 on and after the day on which the certificate of election is issued in respect of the election of councillors to be held in October 2005. (2) The number of persons referred to in subclause (1) is to be achieved by reducing from 5 to 4 the number of persons to be elected as councillors at the election to be held in October 2005. 5Consequential AmendmentsThe legislation specified in Schedule 1 is amended as specified in that Schedule.
