899 -itCQilsfalt^ ANNO VICESIMO OCTAVO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 79 of 1979 An Act to amend the Local Government Grants CommissionAct 1976 in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 21ST DECEMBER, 1979] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Local Government Grants Commis,5ion Act Amendment Act 1979. (2) The Local Government Grants Commission Act 1976 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Local Government Grants Commission Act1976-1979.

900 Local Government Grants Commission Act Amendment Act 1979, No. 79 2. Amendment of s. 5. Section 5 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection: " (1) The Commission shall consist of- (a) four members nominated by the Minister after consultation with the Minister for Local Government and Main Roads, being- (i) one full-time member who shall be chairman; (ii) three part-time members possessing knowledge of local government; (b) the Under Treasurer who shall be a member ex officio and deputy chairman."; (b) in subsection (2), omitting the expression " paragraphs (a) and (b) " and substituting the expression " paragraph (a) ". 3. Amendment of s. 23. Section 23 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1), omitting the expression " 5 (1) (b) " and substituting the expression " 5 (1) (a) (i) ".
