Local Government (Governance and Integrity) Amendment Regulations 2025

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Local Government (Governance and Integrity) Regulations 2020—

(a)to update outdated references to the Victorian Inspectorate and the Victorian Inspectorate Act 2011 following the commencement of Division 2 of Part 12 of the Justice Legislation Amendment (Integrity, Defamation and Other Matters) Act 2024; and

(b)to update the prescribed form for a confidentiality notice to reflect the establishment of the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission under the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Act 2024.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 325 of the Local Government Act 2020.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Local Government (Governance and Integrity) Regulations 2020[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Schedule 2—Confidentiality notice

In Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations—

(a)for "the Victorian Inspectorate" (wherever occurring) substitute "Integrity Oversight Victoria";

(b)for "Victorian Inspectorate" (wherever occurring) substitute "Integrity Oversight Victoria";

(c)for—

"·    the Information Commissioner."

substitute—

"·   the Information Commissioner;

·the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission.".
