Local Government (Goomalling - Councillor

Numbers) Order 2017

Made by the Governor in Executive Council on the recommendation of the Minister for Local Government.

1.             Citation

This order is the Local Government (Goomalling - Councillor
Numbers) Order 2017.

2.             Commencement

This order comes into operation as follows —

(a) clauses 1 and 2 — on the day on which this order is

published in the Gazette;

(b) the rest of the order — on the day after that day.

3.             Terms used

In this order —

commencement day means the day on which clause 4 comes
into operation;

next election means the first ordinary election for the Shire of
Goomalling held after commencement day;

next election day means the day fixed for the holding of the poll
for the next election.

4.             Change in number of councillors for next election

On and from the next election day, the number of offices of
councillor on the council of the Shire of Goomalling is 7.

5.             Consequential direction

In order to give effect to clause 4 —

(a)	Part 4 of the Act applies to preparing for and conducting the next election as if the changes effected by clause 4 take effect on commencement day; and
(b)	the operation of Part 4 of the Act is modified to the extent necessary for the purposes of paragraph (a).
