His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to extend the date by which Narrabri Shire Council may resolve that the Electoral Commissioner is to administer its elections, council polls and constitutional referendums.

This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including section 748 (the general regulation-making power) and clause 102 of Schedule 8.

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Local Government (General) Amendment
(Narrabri Elections) Regulation 2012.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Local Government (General) Regulation 2005

Clause 418 Administration of elections, polls and referendums by

Electoral Commissioner

Omit “the prescribed date is 30 November 2011.”. Insert instead:

the following dates are prescribed:

(a) in relation to Narrabri Shire Council—1 June 2012,
(b) in any other case—30 November 2011.
