Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to prescribe an amended model code of conduct applicable to councillors, members of staff of councils and delegates of councils consequent on the enactment of the Local
Government Amendment (Councillor Misconduct and Poor Performance) Act 2015. Section 440 of the Local Government Act 1993 requires each council to adopt a code of conduct that incorporates provisions

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Local Government (General) Amendment (Model Code of
Conduct) Regulation 2015.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 13 November 2015 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 Clause 193 Model code of conduct and model procedure

Omit “7 December 2012” from clause 193 (1). Insert instead “13 November 2015”.
