His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to increase the statutory limit on the minimum amount that may be specified by a council when levying an ordinary rate from $526 to $540.

This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including sections 548 (3) (a) and 748 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Local Government (General) Amendment (Minimum Rates)

Regulation (No 2) 2018.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2019 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Local Government (General) Regulation 2005

Clause 126 Minimum amounts of rate

Omit “$526”. Insert instead “$540”.
