Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to increase, from $540 to $554, the statutory limit on the minimum amount that may be specified by a council when levying an ordinary rate.

This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including sections 548(3)(a) and 748 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Local Government (General) Amendment (Minimum Rates)

Regulation 2019.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2020 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Local Government (General) Regulation 2005

Clause 126 Minimum amounts of rate

Omit “$540”. Insert instead “$554”.
