Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 4) 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 268A of the Local Government Act 1993 .7 October 1998

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 4) 1998 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3Polling-dayThe polling-day under Part 15 of the Local Government Act 1993 is fixed as follows: (a) 24 November 1998 in respect of the municipal area of Derwent Valley; (b) 23 March 1999 in respect of all other municipal areas. 4Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 3) 1998 revokedThe Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 3) 1998 is revoked.

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

Notified in the Gazette on 8 October 1998

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order –

(a) fixes 24 November 1998 as the polling-day under Part 15 of the Local Government Act 1993 in respect of the municipal area of Derwent Valley and 23 March 1999 in respect of all other municipal areas; and (b) revokes a previous order.
