Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 2) 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 268A of the Local Government Act 1993 .11 March 1998

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Local Government (Elections) Order (No. 2) 1998 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3Fixing of polling-dayThe polling-day for the elections to be held in 1998 is 25 August 1998. 4Revocation of orderThe Local Government (Elections) Order 1998 is revoked.

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

Notified in the Gazette on 13 March 1998

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order  –

(a) fixes 25 August 1998 as the polling-day for elections to be held in 1998; and (b) revokes a previous order fixing an earlier polling-day.
