Act No. 5, 1971.
An Act to amend the provisions relating to the election of chairmen of county councils; for this purpose to amend the Local Government Act, 1919; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 12th May, 1971.]
B and with the advice and consent of the Legislative D E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : —
1. This Act may be cited as the "Local Government (Elections) Amendment Act, 1971".
2 . The Local Government Act, 1919, is amended by omitting paragraph (a) of subsection three of section five hundred and sixty-three and by inserting in lieu thereof the following paragraph :—
(a)
at the first meeting of the county council after a general election of the county council and there after, until the next general election, annually at the first meeting of the county council after the anni versary of the day on which the general election was concluded;
