Act No. 5, 1971.

An Act to amend the provisions relating to the election of chairmen of county councils; for this purpose to amend the Local Government Act, 1919; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 12th May, 1971.]

B and with the advice and consent of the Legislative	D E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by
Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : —
1. This Act may be cited as the "Local Government (Elections) Amendment Act, 1971".

2 . The Local Government Act, 1919, is amended by omitting paragraph (a) of subsection three of section five hundred and sixty-three and by inserting in lieu thereof the following paragraph :—

(a) at the first meeting of the county council after a general election of the county council and there­ after, until the next general election, annually at the first meeting of the county council after the anni­ versary of the day on which the general election was concluded;
