An Act to amend the Local Government Act, 1919, consequent on and in connection with the enactment of the Dog (Amend- ment) Act, 1981. [Assented to, 22nd April, 1981.]

Local Government (Dog) Amendment.
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
Short title.
1. This Act may be cited as the "Local Government (Dog) Amendment Act, 1981".
Commencement.
2. (1) Except as provided in subsections (2) and (3), this Act shall commence on the date of assent to this Act.
(2) The several provisions of Schedule 1 shall commence on such day or days as may be appointed by the Governor in respect thereof and as may be notified by proclamation published in the Gazette.
(3) Section 3 shall, in its application to a provision of Schedule 1, commence on the day on which that provision commences.
Amendment of Act No. 41, 1919. 3. The Local Government Act, 1919, is amended in the manner set forth in Schedule 1.

(Sec. 3.)
AMENDMENTS TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1919.
(1) Section 249 (z)—
Omit the paragraph.

After "any animal", insert "(other than a dog)".
(3) Section 277 (1) (aa) —
Omit the paragraph, insert instead :—
(aa) preventing the fouling by dogs of premises
adjoining public places;
(4) Section 367 (3)—
After section 367 (2), insert :—
(3) Where a provision of an ordinance made for the purpose of carrying this Part into effect conflicts with a provision of the Dog Act, 1966, the provision of the Dog Act, 1966, shall prevail.
