An Act to amend the Local Government (Building and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993

[Royal Assent 22 May 1998]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Local Government (Building and Miscellaneous Provisions) Amendment Act 1998 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on a day to be proclaimed. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Local Government (Building and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 35A insertedAfter section 35 of the Principal Act , the following section is inserted in Division 5: 35ASanitation facilities (1)  A dwelling is to have sanitation facilities inside or outside the dwelling as are required for new houses. (2)  A person must not let or permit to be let or be inhabited a dwelling that does not comply with subsection (1) .

Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 2 penalty units.

5Part 5 repealed Part 5 of the Principal Act is repealed.
